ALL ABOUT MY FAMILY
My husband Chris is devoted to his military career and is very much dedicated to serving and protecting the United States of America through his military service. Chris has served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Austin for 4 years. Back then, Chris was living in Norfolk, Virginia and sailed the seas of Europe and also traveled throughout Europe. Thereafter, in 1997, Chris returned to our home in Guam and transferred into the U.S. Air Force, which kept us in Guam for two years. Soon after, Chris found interest in changing his career to work with the United States Coast Guard, where he now proudly serves. Chris has expressed that the military is his career and he will stay committed to serving our country until he is ready to retire. Chris’ hobbies include playing baseball, playing softball, golfing and auto mechanical work, My husband is the greatest husband and father – his support for my crafting business and my hobbies is what has made me successful! Whenever he’s around, he’s always there to give me a helping hand, to share his very own creative ideas with me, and even to critique my work. He’s a great partner for my home-business (who says men aren’t into these things!)
My one and only child, Keandra “Kiki” is my pride and joy! Kiki is 11 years old and will soon turn 12 in April. Amongst many other things, Kiki enjoys playing musical instruments such as the piano, the guitar, the flute, and the ukulele. Keandra is a pianist for Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church’s Children’s Choir and plays the piano so gracefully and beautifully. A few sport activities that keep Kiki busy, and are those which she truly loves are baseball, golf, and hula. Kiki stays active in the baseball field playing all of the outfield positions, as well as the 3rd base position. Kiki is the only girl on her team and although surrounded with a team of boys, she always demonstrates true girl power out on the field! Kiki has always filled our lives with joy; she’s a very intelligent young lady and is the sweetest kid in this world! Proir to taking interest in baseball, golf, and hula, and throughout the years, Kiki was a soccer player, a yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do, a hip-hop/jazz dancer, and also enjoyed modeling school with John Robert Powers. Kiki is the best assistant ever; she knows how to help me prepare for all of my creations and can pretty much work at making beautiful creations all by herself. Kiki is a very creative young lady and I know that if ever she followed in my crafting footsteps, she too will be a success!

THE INSPIRATION BEHIND “EDIBLE CREATIONS BY STACY”
First and foremost, all of what makes me who I am today comes from my faith in my religion and the guidance and abundant blessings from God!
Alongside God the Almighty, my other inspiration is my daughter, Keandra and my husband Chris. As a military wife and being new to the island of Honolulu, I decided to forego committing to a full-time job, and instead, spend time with my daughter after school for several reasons which include my desire to be a stay at home mom at this time and my apprehension about leaving my daughter with a sitter after school. This additional time that I found on my hands from not working full-time, and the additional time I spend with my daughter who also loves arts and crafts, inspired me to create Edible Creations. Keandra and Chris are my biggest fans!
I recently recovered from major surgery which took place in July 2009. I was rushed into an emergency surgery for an open-heart process to remove a large mass that was positioned above my heart. Since then, my recovery process has taken a long time. Throughout the road to recovery, I had to report to the clinic to get checked often by many of my specialty doctors, sometimes 2-3 times a week. This routine lasted for several months after the surgery. Additionally, I had to undergo physical therapy to help me along the recovery process. My recovery kept me confined at home, without being able to go back into the workforce just yet. It took me several, long months to begin feeling myself again, and still, today, I am not completely back to feeling like I used to prior to my surgery. Yet this too gave me the encouragement, opportunity and time to dream up Edible Creations and put my creative thinking and crafting to work. I dislike not being able to work; I’m not one to stay home and do nothing! I’ve always been the kind of person who has a working mindset. I easily become bored when I have a slow work day, or even just a day without anything to do, so staying home and not having anything to keep me busy does not work for me! I’ve always had an interest/passion in decorating anything and everything! However, my favorite is decorating for parties, functions and events. Again, with the additional time home, and more time spent with my daughter, I was inspired to create Edible Creations. My crafting specialty is edible arrangements. I’ve always been inspired to have fun in the kitchen from all the wonderful moments I shared with my mother while she baked or cooked, as my mother spent most of her time in the kitchen too!
I have been truly blessed with so many people in my life and in my family that have inspired me to do what I enjoy doing the most.
My mother, Elaine, has always been fond of cooking/baking. When she was not working, she was in the kitchen and I was always the curious one in the family, standing alongside her watching and wanting to help. I learned so many things about cooking/baking from my mother. My mother was one of my caretakers during my recovery process, and she stood by me every step of the way! As weak as I may have been and in as much pain as I may have been experiencing, my mother was always by my side to lend a helping hand; to offer me words of encouragement; and to share in my joy of creating my arrangements. My mother was my motivator, my companion, my assistant and my biggest fan! Even if I knew something wasn’t right, she gave me nothing but compliments and always praised my work! If my mother wasn’t by my side during my life-changing event, all of this would have never came about.
My Grandmothers, Lucia “Lula” Eustaquio Garcia McDonald and Lourdes “Deeding” Gogue Ceraos have been a big inspiration in my life and my interest to build up Edible Creations. My Grandma Lula is the mother to a dozen children, over 30 grandchildren, and over 30 great-grandchildren. As a housewife, a grandma, and a great-grandma, Grandma Lula was always in the kitchen cooking for the entire family and discovering creative ways to prepare wonderful meals for all of us. Grandma Lula could flawlessly cater an entire party all be herself! My Grandma Deeding was a cook at the infamous Linda’s Coffee Shop in Hagatna, Guam for over 20 years. Even before Grandma Deeding worked at Linda’s Coffee Shop, she was well known for the great cook that she was within our family, her friends, and even in our community. Grandma Deeding was our babysitter while my parents worked and for years, she always made a home-cooked meal for me and my siblings, even it was a home-cooked snack! I always told my Grandma Deeding that I was large and proud, much thanks to all of her delicious cooking. Both my Grandmothers were dedicated cooks that put so much heart and hard-work into all of their cooking. Their passion to cook kept them active, young-minded and happy, and that is how I would like to live the rest of my life!
My Aunt Dolores “Laling” McDonald Pangelinan was very, very inspirational in my life and she still is to this very day! My Aunt Laling built her very own home business nearly 20 years ago. As one of the first home-based baker, event planner and party/event decorator on the island of Guam, I was intrigued and fascinated with my Aunt Laling’s talent and her creativity since I was a child. Since my elementary school years, I spent many of my weekends volunteering to help my aunt with whatever I could. I remember throwing tantrums at my parents when either one of them would tell me that I could not go to Auntie Laling’s house. Her home and her business were like a playground to me, a playground that I could never play on, but was happy just to be able to be there! My Aunt Laling taught me most of what I know in the decorating/baking world. Up to this very day, I still call on Auntie Laling for questions, advice, secret family recipes, and even just to learn more from her.
God has blessed me with extraordinary people in my life who have all contributed to my success with my home business, without them in my life, I wouldn’t have been successful at this!
